Volunteering

Can’t bring yourself to leave Sunrock Backpackers Resort and Corfu? If you’ve got a month or more to spend with us, ask about our “Pay Your Way” volunteer program.

Suitable for both guys and girls, we’ll give you accommodation and meals in exchange for daily work at the Vrachos Organic Farm or in the hostel itself.

Of course, you’ll be expected to commit for the entire time, and be prepared to put in some serious elbow grease. But in return, you’ll be treated to a truly authentic Greek experience and meet some extraordinary people along the way, with enough amazing stories and memories to last a lifetime!

Typical duties include:

Vrachos Organic Farm

• Feeding, watering and caring for the farm’s animals twice daily
• Collecting and stacking hay bales
• Milking cows, sheep and goats
• Collecting eggs
• Cleaning pig pens and cow stables
• Assisting with birthing of animals (yes, many of our volunteers are proud parents!)
• Planting, weeding, clearing, watering and tending the fruit and vegetable gardens
• Collecting fruit and vegetables for daily meals at the hostel
• Collecting olives (in season)
• Vineyard maintenance and grape picking
• Landscaping and earth moving
• Transporting water tanks and farm equipment
• Miscellaneous maintenance work on animal pens, fences and buildings
